David Weinberg
David Weinberg has won multiple journalism awards, including a national Edward R. Murrow award for feature reporting for "Mr. Fries Man." David is a former reporter at Marketplace. His work has been featured on The World, 99% Invisible, Wiretap, Love + Radio and WWOZ, and he produced the podcast Random Tape. His print work has been published in the New York Times.
“David is an amazing instructor. I feel really lucky to have learned from him. His love for audio was really infused into everything he taught. He did a great job balancing practical training (equipment, interviewing tips, editing tips) and higher level conversations about developing stories and audio as a craft. His teaching helped me feel both equipped in terms of practical skills and inspired in terms of the reach and joy of audio as a medium. He was a really calm, genuine and grounding presence, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and was heard. We couldn't have asked for a better instructor!”

Sarah Koenig
Sarah Koenig co-created and hosts Serial, the award-winning and most listened-to non-fiction narrative podcast ever. Her breakthrough work brought podcasting into the mainstream. Sarah was named one of Time magazine’s Most Influential 100 People of 2015. Along with Julie Snyder, she formed Serial Productions which continues to set the gold-standard in investigative audio reporting and storytelling. Serial Productions joined the New York Times Company in 2020 and you can join Sarah this summer at The Berlin School of Podcasting.
“In Serial, the questions outnumber the answers. That’s part of what makes the show’s wild popularity so remarkable. Rushing headlong into the complexities and confusion bound up in the U.S. legal system, Serial didn’t just hold the audience’s attention, it became the first blockbuster podcast, picking up countless listeners who had never heard, or even heard of, a podcast. In the process, it also became the first one to win a Peabody Award. The Board of Jurors described the first season of Serial as ‘a soulful examination of reasonable doubt in homicide trials’ and a ‘compelling, drilling account of how guilt, truth, and reality are decided.’”

Benjamin Lorch
Benjamin Lorch is the founder of The Berlin School of Podcasting. A builder of schools, programs & partnerships, his work focuses on international education and civil society efforts. His podcasting clients include The Robert Bosch Foundation, The Green European Foundation, The International Alumni Center Berlin and Mizter Rad. His dramatic radio work has also appeared on KCRW FM Berlin.
“I have learned so much from you, Benjamin, not just about podcasting as a craft, but about communication itself. What you have taught me goes far beyond structuring and producing a podcast; it has given me a deeper understanding of how powerful and profound communication can be. The way we exchange ideas, convey messages, and amplify voices that mater — it all resonates with me on a level I didn’t expect.
“Kahlil Gibran once wrote: ‘The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.’ That is exactly what you have done for me. You have not just taught me podcasting, you have guided me to a deeper understanding of communication, connection, and humanity itself.”
