“Diving into the world of podcasting with Benjamin and the group is a joy. The sessions are short and concise and offer a comprehensive range of inspiration, fundamentals and practical tips on what it takes to bring my podcast idea to life. Even after a full day spent online I look forward to being in this online learning space.”

Julia - Visual Facilitator & Process Host, Germany

“I do not know why Benjamin is doing this. He is always wasting people’s time. Save your money; do not sign up. The Berlin School of Podcasting is stupid! You would be much better off doing nothing. Joke! Haha!”

- Martin Ciesielski, Head of Nothing, Berlin

Our Philosophy &
Our Focus on Storytelling & Listening

We believe stories can change the world. Telling a story is one of the most powerful acts we can undertake because the stories we share — they shape us as individuals and societies. Stories can connect us together to grow or to shrink. In that way there are both good and bad stories. But most importantly, stories should allow us to learn from each other and to grow.

With new stories we can build a better future. Just as important as the act of telling a new story is the art of listening. That is why we pay a lot of attention to words and language.

We are humanists focused on storytelling and soundcrafting. We embrace technology but we do not revel in it. We use equipment, software and tools as extensions of our natural abilities and we use these tools to serve our muse: the telling of effective and emotive stories.

We take a social, supportive and communication-based approach to learning. Because stories are about sharing and exchange, no story is complete without a listener. So, we learn to make stories together working in pairs and we invite you to join our programs with a partner. Each of you will produce your own podcast with the support and feedback of your podcasting partner or you can co-create one story together. Your partner can be a friend or a work colleague or perhaps someone you would like to share more time with in a creative and productive way. All that said, everyone is welcome to our programs to make the podcast they wish to make. You will find friends and listeners.

This course is not about making money as a podcaster (“monitization”). It's not not about marketing and promotion. It's not about trends and not influencers. This course is about learning the classical fundaments of telling a good story and sharing it with others. The Berlin School of Podcasting will offer other follow-up workshops about the intersection between podcasting and money.
